SGSo the endeavour to recreate my LA-01 fermented NEIPA to be brewed at a low ABV with regular yeast has proven near successful, it has many great similarities to the original, though slightly less sweetness and higher bitterness, this was a great landing on the first trial, it seems more of a Hazy IPA than a NEIPA due to the hop presence and IBUs. Though it’s still sensational! I’ve included the recipe for those looking for a great Hazy IPA, I will be making a few adjustments to create the NEIPA, so be sure to stay tuned for another recipe to come.
Aroma:
Strong Citrus with an earthy summer pine scent.
Appearance:
Beautiful golden/orange hue with a crisp white foamy head, very opaque hazy appearance letting in a brilliant “glow”.
Taste:
Brilliant full smooth body, citrus zest and piney flavour with an gentle but pronounced IPA bitterness on the back note.
Overall…. Fantastic Hazy IPA for the “Hazy Fan Boi’s”, I feel to get the NEIPA I’m chasing, I’ll sub out the Mosaic for something like Citra, Cascade, Galaxy or Sabro to move away from the Pine Resin and focus on the fruit flavours.
